Technique: Stand on one foot and keep the body steady. Switch feet. Place both hands and feet on the ground. Lift one foot in the air and stay balanced. Switch feet. Place both hands and feet on the ground. Lift one hand into the air and stay balanced. Switch hands. Balance on your bottom by sitting on the ground and lift hands and feet off the ground.
Skill Activities: Balance on your hands in a handstand. Time how long you can stay balanced in the different positions. Try closing your eyes and staying balanced. Try balancing on different objects (i.e. box, rock, chair, etc.). Discover balance positions with a friend (i.e. wheelbarrow, hold hands and lean backward, etc.).
