Earlier you learned how to find your heart rate. The steps are shown.

  1. Sit quietly for a moment.
  2. Find your pulse in either your neck or wrist.
  3. Using a timer, start counting the number of beats you feel for 1 minute.

A fitness tracking device (Fitbit, Apple Watch, Polar, etc. ) also can be used to find your heart rate.


Practice finding your heart rates before and after your weekly activities by recording them in the activity that follows.

Before completing one of your weekly activities, record your heart rate.

After completing one of your weekly activities, record your heart rate.

Your resting heart rate should be between 65 to 110 beats per minute.
Your exercise heart rate could be approximately 130 beats per minute or lower.
