Action: Move on your feet from one place to another. One foot stays on the ground at all times.

Technique:

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart.
  • Put one foot in front of the body.
  • Stay tall, with arms bent at the elbow.
  • Move your feet forward, one foot in front of the other.

Skill Activities:

  • Walk as fast as you can.
  • Walk with small steps and then long steps.
  • Walk on your toes and then your heels.
  • Walk backwards (turn your head and watch where you are going).
  • Walk in a zig-zag pattern.
  • Walk in shapes (circle, square, triangle, figure-eight).
  • Walk with your knees as high as you can.
  • Walk and kick your buttocks with each step.
  • Walk with your knees touching.
  • Walk without bending your knees.
