Objectives
Students will:
- Examine the role of the NAACP in enrolling African American students in white schools after the Brown v. Board decision.
- Discuss the Blossom Plan and segregationist responses to it.
- Explain Arkansas' and the U.S. government's response to the protests.
- Examine the Greensboro sit-ins and their impact on segregationist practices in business.
Skills Needed
Students must be able to:
- Identify and describe injustices toward African Americans and other American minorities, such as Jim Crow laws, segregation, discrimination, and incidents of violence.
