How is the economy of Texas helped by transportation and communication?

The economy of Texas is also one of the largest economies in the U.S. As a large producer of agricultural goods, such as cotton, cereal, and cattle, Texas has the most farms in the U.S.
In addition, Texas has a large aeronautic and aerospace industry. NASA is located in Houston and is responsible for the space program. Two large airline companies also have headquarters in Texas. These airlines are leaders in passenger miles, number of passengers carried, and total revenue--the amount of money they make.
With seaports for international trade, a large airline industry, and the best cargo airport in the world (Dallas-Fort Worth), Texas is able to ship products throughout the country and the world.
Have you noticed a similarity among the states you've studied? All have strong economies. This is because they have a communication network that allows people to communicate quickly and a transportation system that can move people and goods from one place to another in a timely manner. Having a strong communication network and transportation system is essential to a strong economy.
