Florida is another state with a strong economy. Can you think of some reasons why? Florida's amusement parks attract millions of people to that state each year.
With popular attractions, warm weather, and white sandy beaches, this state is a tourist destination year round. Tourism is a huge part of Florida's economy.
Since water surrounds almost all of Florida, international trade is also a big industry for the state.
These seaports manage container ships, tank ships, and cruise lines coming in and out daily. Effective communication and transportation systems help manage all this coming and going.
The Kennedy Space Center is located on Merritt Island in Florida. It is NASA's primary launch center for human spaceflight. This means the communication network and transportation system in Florida are responsible for sending astronauts to space! That's a very important responsibility.
With all of the people and goods traveling in and out of Florida by car, airplane, boat, and spacecraft, strong communication and transportation systems are essential to the state's economy.
