Thanksgiving Day

Our last stop on our field trip holiday tour takes place in November. Long ago before the United States was a country, the people that traveled to this land from England had a difficult time. They were not used to the land and didn’t know how to grow crops. The Native Americans came and helped them so that they would survive and have enough food to eat. As an act of thanksgiving, the people held a special feast for their new friends, the Native Americans. Each year we celebrate Thanksgiving on the last Thursday in November as a way to remember what we are thankful for, too.
