Our next field trip stop is in February. President’s Day is the day that we celebrate two important presidents that helped to make our country the great nation that it is. George Washington, who was born on February 22, was our first president. He helped to win the war against England and give our country freedom. Abraham Lincoln, who was born on February 12, was our president during a difficult time in history. He believed that all people should have freedom, no matter the color of their skin.
President’s Day is always held on the third Monday in February to celebrate these two presidents.
