What does the tenth amendment ensure for it's citizens?

The Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution The Tenth Amendment enables “Powers reserved to the states and to the people.” Sounds confusing, doesn’t it? Basically it means that any powers (or rights) that are not specifically given to the federal government by the Constitution are in the hands of the states or the people.

As you can see, the Bill of Rights (shown at the left) was written to protect the guilty as well as the innocent. Thus, although the laws may sometimes seem unfair, they are designed for the protection of all.
