Many important leaders and reformers have made their impact on history. Study these slides to review some important leaders and reformers you learned about in this course.
Winfield Scott was the army general who led the War of 1812. Paul Revere fought to protect the rights of colonists against the British. He also warned the colonists that the British were coming. Horace Mann fought for education reform. Susan B. Anthony fought for women’s rights. George Washington was America's first president. Thomas Jefferson was America's third president, and he is also responsible for drafting the Declaration of Independence. Abraham Lincoln was president during the Civil War, and he signed the Emancipation Proclamation to end slavery. Franklin D. Roosevelt was president during most of the Great Depression and during World War II. |
