Objectives

Students will:

  1. Identify the tone of a passage of text, and explain how the tone is created.
  2. Analyze the role of backstory in developing a character.
  3. Analyze a story's plot direction and themes, based on its events.
  4. Use technology to collaborate with other students on a piece of writing.

Skills Needed

Students must be able to:

  1. Define and identify specific examples of tone in writing and speaking.
  2. Read the first seven chapters in Seedfolks by Paul Fleischman.
