Can the impression of movement be created only using visual cues?

Designers use the elements of art to create visual flow in order to lead the viewer’s eyes around the artwork. If the viewer gets stuck looking at one area, the artwork can become boring and stagnant. The solution is to create a path that leads the viewer’s eye through the artwork. Lines, edges, shape, and color can help your viewer explore different areas of emphasis and create a sense of movement.

In graphic design, most of your images will be still drawings that don't move. But you can create the sense of movement to draw a viewer's attention to certain parts of your work. For example, these two designs use arrows to move the viewer's eye toward the logo or name of the company.
