Now that you've learned about one of the first major turning points in history, it's time to mark it on your thematic map. First, find Mesopotamia on your own map. It's in the North Africa/Middle East region between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, in what is now called Iraq. Color in the region, and write a note describing the turning point that happened there.
Not sure how to label your map? Look at this example: If you needed to label Mesoamerica and say that a form of writing was invented there in 600 BCE, your thematic map might look something like this one. (Note that this example is not a map of Mesopotamia. You'll need to use an online or print atlas to find that one yourself.)
