4 x 4 = 16 and 3 x 2 is 6.

16 + 6 equals 22.

At the auto show, Darren sees 3 cars and 1 motorcycle. How many wheels did Darren see?

3 x 4 = 12 and 1 x 2 = 2.

Darren sees 12 wheels + 2 wheels or 14 wheels.

Tony sees 2 cars and 5 motorcycles. He also sees an old three wheeler from the 20th century. How many wheels did he see?

2 x 4 = 8 and 5 x 2 = 10.

He sees 8 + 10 wheels + 3 more wheels. 8 + 10 + 3 = 21.
