You can beat out a rhythm with a musical instrument such as bells, tambourine, sticks, drum, etc. Again, move your body: dance, stamp, walk, jump, and march while swinging your arms!

Look at the rhythm for the 4 times table as follows:

Swing the arms from side to side for 1, 2, 3, and then around in a circle for 4;

side to side for 5, 6, 7, and around for 8; side to side for 9, 10, 11, and around for 12;

side to side for 13, 14, 15, and around for 16; side to side for 17, 18, 19, and around for 20;

side to side for 21, 22, 23, and around for 24; side to side for 25, 26, 27, and around for 28;

side to side for 29, 30, 31, and around for 32; side to side for 33, 34, 35, and around for 36;

side to side for 37, 38, 39, and around for 40; side to side for 41, 42, 43, and around for 44;

side to side for 45, 46, 47, and around for 48.

Shout the number each time you swing the arms in a circle (4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, and 48).

Step side to side as you swing your arms! You're counting by 4s!
