Have you every heard of the term "melting pot?" A melting pot is the concept of a place with a variety of races, cultures, and individuals all mixed together and assimilated. When you assimilate, your culture and beliefs begin to resemble those of another group. It is the melting of cultures.
The culture of Texas is a melting pot of Southern and Southwestern cultures.
Since Texas borders Mexico, the Hispanic influence is strong in Texas. There are also African, English, and Native American cultures that have melted into the culture of Texas.
