Technique: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Hold your hands up as a target. Move feet to where the ball is thrown. As the ball hits your hands, squeeze them together to stop the ball. You can also catch with one hand by closing your hand around the ball.
Skill Activities: Throw a ball in the air and catch it. See how high you can throw it and still catch it. Have a partner throw a ball to you to catch. Catch the ball with one or two hands. Bounce the ball as high as you can and catch it. Toss or bounce the ball, and try the following activities before you catch it: see how many times you can clap your hands spin in a circle to the right touch the floor sit down on the floor move to another place to catch the ball (run, hop, skip, slide) catch behind your back
