Technique: You can roll a ball with one hand or both hands. One-handed roll: Hold the ball in either hand. Swing your arm down and back behind the body. Step toward the target with the foot opposite of your rolling arm. Keep your arm close to the body as you swing it forward toward the target. Release and flip the ball to the target so it moves along the ground. Two-handed roll: Hold the ball with both hands. Bend at your waist and swing your arms between your legs. Swing your arms forward. Release and flip the ball to the target so it moves along the ground.
Skill Activities: See how far you can roll the ball. Roll a ball and try to hit a target. Back up and see how far away you can be and still hit the target. Roll the ball as fast as you can. Sit on the floor, and roll the ball in a circle around your body. See how many different ways and body parts you can use to roll the ball.
