As you have learned in this lesson, some nutrients are the building blocks of our bodies, allowing us to build and repair muscles and to have strong teeth and bones. Other nutrients are the fuel our bodies “burn” to give us energy for all the activities we do. You know that good nutrition provides better fuel than poor nutrition does. So the question becomes “What kind of fuel are you putting into your body?” That is, what are you eating and drinking?
For this week’s activity, you will record what you eat and drink during a 24-hour period. Then you will analyze how well that fuel is allowing your body to perform. Be sure to keep this week's activity. You will need to refer to it again when you do the activity for Lesson 3.2 What Should You Eat?
