When writing a check, make your wording and number amounts very clear. When writing the number amount, make certain the beginning numeral is very close to the $ (dollar sign) notation so that no additional numerals may be entered. The amount written in words is also a way of avoiding amount changes. To view the info-graphic below, click on each shaded area and you will see an explanation of how to write a check.
