You may have heard the phrase, study smarter, not harder.   In this course, you will become a smarter learner.  Like taking an engine apart and then putting it together again, you will pull the pieces of your learning apart and then see how they come together to make you into a better learner.

This unit will introduce you to a wealth of knowledge about your brain. You will study what current research and what science says about the brain.  You will examine the parts of the brain and their functions.  You will explore how the brain takes in, processes, and stores information.   You do not need to be a computer scientist to use a computer, but the better you understand the various aspects of computer technology, the more effectively you can use that technology.  In the same way, the better you understand how your brain processes information, the better you will become at using its capabilities.
