While no one learning environment may be perfect, there are things that you can learn from each place in which you study that will help you understand what works best for you.  When you go to your 2.7 My Study Spaces Evaluation form, you will complete your evaluation of your study spaces to identify ways you can make improvements to one or more of your study spaces.

Instructions:

1. Choose one study space to evaluate.

2. Read through each of the statements within each of the four areas you are evaluating: Physical, Organization, Distractions, and Habits. Think about or refer back to the discussions within the lesson.

3. Rate each characteristic using the HCI code in the table.

H = Happening: I have taken a realistic look at whether this characteristic is true in his space and if I believe it is working for me.

C = Control: I have considered if I have control over this characteristic in such a way that I could change or ask for change. If so, mark Y for Yes, if not mark N for No.

I = Improve: Considering my thinking about what is happening and the amount of control I have over this characteristic, I will consider ways to improve this aspect of my study space. If you want to make improvement, mark Y for yes, if not mark N for No.

4. Return to the first area of the evaluation: Physical. Based on your original rating analysis, your thinking about each characteristic, and your HCI ratings, go to the final column, My Plan for Improvement, and describe how you will improve in this area.

5. Repeat Step four for each of the other areas on the form: Organization, Distractions, and Habits.
