Knowing what tools and supplies you need, knowing where to find them, and making sure they are in working order comes from good planning and personal management. Consider easy ways to organize the study space in your home. Find and use containers, paper clips, labels, and other tools to help you locate what you need quickly.  If you are studying away from home, be sure to take a little extra time to organize your things.

• Pack necessary supplies and tools in your backpack.
• Plan your work so that you will not need supplies that are not available.
• Verify that you can use supplies that belong to other students.

Getting and staying organized is a theme in almost every aspect of learning.  Keeping your study environment organized means you must consider the physical setting and the tools and supplies needed in that setting.
