Every state has a state bird. What is your state's bird? Let's look at some examples. 
The California quail is the state bird of California. 
Some states share the same state bird. Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas all have the northern mockingbird as their state bird. 
Another popular state bird is the northern cardinal. This is the state bird of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia. 
Pennsylvania's state bird is the ruffled grouse. 
Some states have a state bird and a state wild game bird. For example, Massachusetts' state bird is the black-capped chickadee, and their state game bird is the wild turkey.
