The French and Indian War was a battle between the French and British that began in 1754. Both sides had Native Americans who fought alongside them. The largest part of the war was in the northeast, and the conflict was mostly about land.
As colonists began to move west, they experienced more conflicts with the French who had already claimed that land. Although both sides were victorious in different battles during the war, the British eventually won.
The French and Indian War ended with the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1763. This agreement forced France to give up its land. Britain gained the land east of the Mississippi River, and Spain gained the land west of it.
