Many different types of scientists study how the things we do affect the environment. Environmentalists are people who care deeply about protecting nature and natural cycles. Find out what scientists and environmentalists in your area have to say by completing the activity below.
Activity
- What environmental issues exist in your area? Check the newspaper, or ask around to learn about top environmental problems in your city, region, or state.
- Do research to find out more about the issue. Click the Activity button to access the Local Environmental Issue worksheet, where you can record opinions about human needs and environmental concerns.
- Summarize the problem and what has been done to solve it. Get creative! Keep your summary short--no more than three minutes or three pages.
- Click the Rubric button to help you learn how to create a great summary.
- Submit your summary to your teacher.
