The Preamble is the introductory part of the Constitution.

Read the Preamble to the United States Constitution:

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

The fact that it starts with “We the People” says a lot. It means that our founding fathers wanted a government where the people had a say in how it was run. Why? Based on the Preamble, what do you think the purpose of the Constitution was?
