Maple leaves in spring Follow these steps, and answer the questions. Write your answers in your lesson worksheet.

1. Go for a walk in your neighborhood, and look at the trees in your area. Collect leaves from the different trees you see. If possible, gather leaves from both evergreen and deciduous trees. If you have very few trees in your area, you can draw leaves from a book that shows different species.

2. Separate the leaves you found (or drew). Put them into different categories based on whether they are evergreen or deciduous. Then, separate the leaves based on their color, size, or other differences you see.
