It's time to do a little grocery shopping. There are 8 items on the list. You will to need to make sure you brought enough money with you. You have two $20 bills, or $40. Will it be enough?
The first four items on the list are for tonight's salad. They were all easy to find. The first four items are in the produce section. Now, make note of how much each item cost, and see how you're doing with the money you brought.
Add these four numbers up to see how much the produce will cost.
$1 To start, add the first two numbers together. What is 1 + 2?
Now, add the next two numbers together. What is 1 + 4?
It's time to add your two smaller answers together. What is 3 + 5? Check your answer.
$8 Great adding! The produce items on your list will cost $8. Now, look at the last four items on the list. Put all of the items in your cart, and see how much they cost as you go.
