Habits in My Family
You may have one or two habits that you never thought about. A habit is a behavior that is the usual way you do things. In the story "Habits," Bobby has a habit of eating the cat food even though it is not good for him. Habits can be good or bad. My family members have quite interesting habits.
My family members have a lot of good habits. Some may seem weird, but they are good to have. For instance, my sister lays out two sets of school clothes each night. My brother likes his vegetables in a bowl at dinner. He has to load the dishwasher. My mother has a habit that I think is weird. She drinks two glasses of water before each meal. She says that it makes her eat less. Drinking water is a good thing to do. I make it a habit to turn out lights when I leave a room. Habits that save money are good to have.
My family members also have habits that are not so good to have. My brother never pushes his chair in when he gets up from the table. I trip over it sometimes. My dog Spot will leave treats, toys, and shoes on the stairs. My dad always leaves the television remote on top of the television. He says that it won’t get lost, but you have to get up to change the channel. My mom has a habit of forgetting if the dishes in the dishwasher are clean or dirty. She washes the dishes twice. This habit can waste money. My family has both good and bad habits. We need to keep the good behaviors and change the bad ones.
