What happens when someone tries to use the garden to get rich?

Virgil, a sixth grader, is the next character to tell part of the Seedfolks story. Virgil starts by explaining that his father “always has a smile on his face and a plan moving in his head.” When Virgil’s father sees the vacant lot being cleared and neighbors starting to plant there, his plan will require Virgil to wake up early―on the very first day of summer vacation!

Small boy under the covers not wanting to wake up in the morning.

As if that’s not bad enough, the whole experience with the Gibb Street garden turns out to be pretty embarrassing for Virgil and for his dad.
