Chinese writing and literature date back thousands of years, and China has some of the most advanced historical record-keeping in the world.

Chinese Calligraphy The first writings in Chinese history were recorded on oracle bones. Over a short period of time, these symbols developed into an advanced writing system. The written standard was Classical Chinese, used by the highest class of society. Calligraphy later became main stream and Chinese poets and writers were able to produce works that have become treasured pieces of Ancient Chinese history.  Many of the most famous writings are from the great philosophers and religious teachers such as Confucius's Analects and Laozi's Tao Te Ching.  Watch the following video to learn more about calligraphy and Ancient Chinese writing.
