What are pollinators?

Goal:

Goal:

Pollinators are one of the ways pollen moves from flower to flower. Bees are pollinators. When they travel from flower to flower collecting pollen and nectar, bees drop pollen as they go. This is how new plants begin, and it is called pollination. For some kinds of trees and plants, pollination causes flowers to become fruit. If bees did not pollinate those flowers, we would not have oranges, apples, or other fruits and vegetables. Look at the bee in this picture. Can you see the pollen it has collected?
