Nathan loves desserts! He just opened his own bakery, serving different kinds of sweets! He wants to sell slices in thirds. Thirds are 3 equal parts of a whole. Can you help Nathan divide some desserts into thirds?
Yummy! Nathan just baked a cake, a pie, and 3 cookies! Let’s help him divide his desserts into thirds so he can sell them to his customers.
Wow! Three friends have walked in to the bakery and ordered 3 slices of pie! Let’s divide the whole pie into thirds so Nathan can serve the slices.

A few children have run in to the bakery, and each of them wants one cookie! Hmm, we have 3 cookies and 3 children. Each child can get a third of the cookies. That means each child gets one cookie out of 3 cookies total. Each child receives one third of the cookies that were baked.
