When you are given an equation in slope-Intercept form, you are given very specific information about what the graph of the equation looks like. From a graph, you can find the slope and the y-intercept and write an equation in this form.
Slope-Intercept Form
y = mx + b
The slope (m) of a line refers to the steepness or slant of the line.
It can be seen as \(\mathsf{ \frac{rise}{run} }\) or \(\mathsf{ \frac{\text{change in y}}{\text{change in x}} }\).
The y-intercept is a point (0, b) where a given line crosses the y-axis
You know how to look at a graph and find the equation. Let's look at how to look at an equation and create a graph.
