writing walrusaudio buttonWhat is expository writing? Expository sounds like a scary word, but I bet you've written an expository paragraph before. Writing that provides answers to questions is called expository writing. This type of writing explains or informs.

This week, you will be writing an expository paragraph about where you would take a vacation and explain how you would pack. Before we get started, let's see what an expository paragraph looks like.

audio buttonMy Birthday Wish

If I could ask for only one thing for my birthday, it would be a new bike. My bike is getting old, and it's too small for me. The wheel is bent from when I hit the curb last month, and my legs get all scrunched up when I ride because I've grown. I would be able to go much faster on a new bike. My friends would all be racing to catch up to me. I would get so much exercise riding my bike everywhere too. With a bike that's the right size, I would be able to ride for hours. Getting a new bike for my birthday would be the best present ever!
