Goal: Can you use place-value patterns to count by 100s?

Isla practiced 10 hours. Then she practiced for another 300 hours. Wow! How can we find out how many hours she practiced this month? We can add 10 + 300. It is quicker to count by 100s!

We can count by 100s from 10 to find Isla’s hours for this month. If we want to count by 100s, we will need a thousand chart.
