Birds often have difficulty finding food during the winter months, especially in very cold climates. Perhaps you could build a birdfeeder or provide a birdbath for your neighborhood birds.
Ducks love to be fed. Buy some bird seed or cracked corn, and feed the ducks at a local pond.
Place trash in a trashcan so that animals are not injured. A seagull or ocean creature could be injured when a plastic can-holder gets caught on its head. A fox might cut itself on the sharp edge of a rusty can.
