All throughout history, people have had important and complex relationships with animals. Animals serve people, as well as supply them with food and clothing. Humans get meat, milk, and eggs from many different animals, as well as wool from sheep, leather from the hides of cattle and goats, and silk spun by the silkworm. In return, humans take care of animals in many different ways.
