To make sure you are ready for your discussion about natural disasters, today you will practice having a discussion with a partner.
There are a few things you want to keep in mind during a discussion.
Discussion Tips
- Wait for the person who is speaking to stop talking before you begin.
- Acknowledge what the other person just said by making a comment or asking a question about it.
- Listen attentively when the other person is speaking.
Find your graphic organizer that you used to take notes. Use your notes to help you with this practice discussion with your partner. If you find that you get stuck and aren't sure what to say next, your questions can help you out.
