Retell the story. Identify any natural resources in the story.

1. Identify any natural, human, or capital resources in the story. Some of it may not be too obvious, such as the captain of the ship reflecting a human resource (or the weaver, farmers, and shepherd).
2. The ship itself is a capital resource.
3. Our focus in this story is on some of the items the Kush people produced and traded. What are some of those items?
The photo at the left shows flax in bundles. Flax fibers are amongst the oldest fiber crops in the world. The use of flax for the production of linen goes back at least to ancient Egyptian times. Pictures on tombs and temple walls at Thebes depict flowering flax plants which shows how important it was the the Ancient Egyptians and Kush.
