A secondary source is when someone writes about someone else's experiences. The writer of secondary sources does not have firsthand experience about what he or she is writing.
A textbook is a secondary source that uses information gathered from both primary sources and secondary sources.
Jackie Robinson is a biography about Robinson's experiences as a baseball player. It isn't a primary source because it wasn't written by Robinson himself. Instead, it was written by someone else who likely used both primary sources (Robinson) and secondary sources (other books written about this famous baseball player).
