In the fable you just heard, the frogs believed they needed a leader. To get one, they had to ask the Roman king of the gods, Jupiter, for help. In the United States, we choose our leaders by voting for them.
Read the questions below and think about how you would answer them.

1. Why did the frogs want a leader?
2. Did they choose their leader wisely?
3. What could they have done differently?
4. What qualities do you think a good leader should have? For example, should he or she be smart, kind, and honest?
Find out where your community goes to vote. Ask an adult to help you find this information on the Internet or at your local library. Look up pictures of voting booths and ballots.
