- In your notebook, write down as many of the natural resources you have used today as you can. Remember that a natural resource is something that occurs naturally. For example, peanut butter isn't a natural resource, but the peanuts used to make it are. In your head, think through your day, remembering everything you did from the moment you woke up until now. You might list the water you used to brush your teeth, the corn in your cereal, the cow that made the milk for your cereal, and the oranges used to make your orange juice. If you got a ride to school, you could list the oil used to power the vehicle. If you rode a bicycle, you could list the aluminum, steel, and rubber used to make the bike.
- Use those ideas to create an interesting and attractive word diagram that shows all the natural resources you've used today. Use markers and a piece of thick paper to make your diagram, or you can create a digital diagram.
- The diagram at the top of the page just has a few words, but you can use it as an example. Put at least 15 words in your diagram. Click the Rubric button to see what it takes to make a great diagram.
- Post your diagram to the classroom discussion board. If your diagram was made using paper and markers, you can take a digital photograph of it, or you could scan the poster into a digital file. Post your photograph or digital file to the classroom discussion board.
