Retell the Story: Columcille of Ireland
The Celts had earlier systems of writing that they used to make memorials on stones.
Goal:
Goal:
Design your own form of writing. Start with designing pictures to indicate words, as the early Egyptians did. Or, you could design their own form of phonetics.
Steps:
-
Retell the story. First retell it orally (in the
storytelling tradition). Try to include as many details as
you can remember.
Using the audio recording software of your choice, record yourself retelling the story out loud in your own words. After you have completed your recording successfully, send the audio file to your teacher.
-
Experiential activity: Think about why the work Columcille
did was so important.
- On a separate piece of paper, retell the story in the form of writing you created.
