Objectives

Students will:

1. Identify the characteristics of different classes of chemical reactions.
2. Classify chemical reactions as synthesis (combination), decomposition, single displacement (replacement), double displacement (replacement), and combustion.
3. Use the activity series to determine if a single replacement reaction will take place.
