Everything is made up of matter. Matter is
anything that takes up space and has weight. What examples of
matter can you name? Look around. What do you see that is
matter?
Matter can be a gas like air, a liquid like water, or a solid
like a toy. These are called states of matter. What do you see
or experience that is a solid, liquid, or gas?

Did you know that humans are made of all three states of matter? Your body is solid, your tears are liquid, and your breath is a gas.
