What can you see in the night sky?
When you look up at the night sky, what do you see? You may see
the moon or clouds. You also may see twinkling little dots of
light scattered across the sky. Do you know what they are? They
are stars!
Stars may seem small, but they are actually very big. They just
seem small because they are so far away. The Sun is the closest
star, and it is still millions of miles away from Earth.
Stars are giant balls of glowing gasses that give off energy and
make their own light.
