Temperate Coniferous Forests
What are the characteristics of a temperate coniferous forest?
Goal:
Goal:
Temperate evergreen (coniferous) forests all have certain characteristics. As previously discussed, they are located in temperate regions and near coastlines. Depending on the location, these forests may consist entirely of conifers, or they may be primarily conifers with some deciduous trees mixed in. Warm summers and cool to cold winters occur in these forests. This biome also receives enough precipitation, usually in the form of rainfall, to sustain the whole forest ecosystem. The plentiful rainfall, sunshine, and warmer weather provides the forest with a long growing season that allows producers, and inadvertently consumers, to flourish.
