Choose your colors.

Choose two colors of cardstock that you think look nice together. Fold one of your pieces of paper in half so that it looks like a book. Make sure to fold carefully so that the corners and edges match up!

Cut a paper strip.

Cut out a strip of paper from your other piece of cardstock. The strip should be about 6 inches long and 1 inch wide. Fold your piece of paper so that it looks like an accordion.

Draw a shape.

Draw a large shape on the same piece of paper that you cut the strip out of. Make sure it is a simple shape like a heart, star, flower, or diamond. Carefully cut out the shape and then glue the accordion to the back of it.

Decorate your card.

Decorate the front of your card with crayons or colored pencils. Think about the person you are making the card for and make a picture they will like.

Glue the pop-up into the card.

Glue the other end of the accordion to the inside of the card. Leave the card open so that the glue can dry completely. You don’t want to accidently glue the card shut! Then, write a message to the person you want to give the card to!

Good job making your card! Make sure to take a picture of the inside and outside of your card to send to your teacher. Then, give or send the card to the person you made it for.
